Phoned on Friday to book some bikes and shuttle then turned up at 9am to find some bikes waiting for us. Spent 10 to 15 minutes getting saddle height correct and everything ready for the trip. We hired MTBs but ebikes also available. The bikes seemed well maintained and suitable for the lake Dunstan track. Shuttle to Clyde to ride back to Cromwell suited us best, but they also offer a collection from Clyde. Thanks very much. We had a grand day out.
They dropped the ball and caused us to cancel our bike trip at the last minute. We booked a reservation well in advance for six bikes, two adults and four kids. They were very responsive and friendly when helping us arrange this over email. They asked for all the necessary details, including our kids' heights. On the day of our bike trip we had a 2-hour drive from Twizel to Cromwell. I called them before the drive just to make sure everything was set. The guy who picked up the phone seemed to be unaware of our reservation, but said he would get things ready in time for our arrival, and he again asked for our kids' heights. When we arrived, the shop was closed. We called the number on the window a few times before we got a response. We then waited another 10-15 minutes for him to arrive. But when he arrived, it soon became clear that they didn’t have bikes of the right size for our kids (even though we provided their heights twice). We ended up having to cancel the bike trip and instead we walked a shorter section of the Dunstan trail instead.
Easy to moderate trail with the help of an e-bike. Staff member was friendly and helpful. Drop off and pick up available.
