Otago Central Rail Trail & Tracks - Daisy Bank to Middlemarch

This full day adventure begins with travel to Middlemarch by train or shuttle, where participants are professionally fitted to their e bikes before being transferred to Daisybank along the Otago Rail Trail. Riders then embark on a 40 kilometer journey through one of the most scenic sections of the trail, featuring tunnels, river flats, bridges, and golden high country surrounded by beautiful schist landscapes. The ride offers a unique opportunity to experience remote New Zealand scenery while cycling at a comfortable pace, suitable for all fitness levels. Along the way, participants can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside and the sense of adventure provided by the historic trail. The ride concludes in Middlemarch where guests can relax with a drink at the Strath Taieri Hotel.

Included in the experience are e bikes, helmets, panniers, shuttle transfers from Middlemarch to Daisybank, and CCT app access. Food, water, Taieri Gorge train tickets, and return shuttle transfers to Dunedin are not included, so riders should bring these items. Comfortable activewear, sunscreen, water, a windbreaker, padded shorts, gloves, and a mobile phone are recommended. Optional extras include Dunedin return transfers and souvenir items. The activity operates rain or shine, and the team provides full support to ensure a safe and enjoyable ride for all participants.
