During this educational and enjoyable guided tour, you will learn about the nature and culture of Lapland and the Arctic region. Your guide, Frank, is a locally working Dutch guide who brings enthusiasm and expertise to every visit at the Arktikum Museum. The tour is tailored to your expectations and level of knowledge, ensuring a personalized experience for all participants. Topics covered include the characteristics of the Arctic, the impacts of climate change on this sensitive region, traditional livelihoods in Lapland, and the history of Finland and Lapland before, during, and after the Second World War. Over the course of the 1.5-hour tour, you will gain a comprehensive introduction to the natural, cultural, and historical aspects of Lapland, with opportunities to ask questions and engage with the material in an interactive way.

Throughout the tour, you will enjoy highlights such as the museum’s Northern Lights film, displays of Sámi clothing, and a chance to take photographs in the unique museum building. During the Covid-19 pandemic, all activities are offered as private tours, meaning only you and your group will participate. The maximum group size for the tour is five people, providing an intimate and safe experience. Admission to Arktikum is included in the price of the tour, though transportation to and from the museum is not provided. The tour offers a well-rounded and immersive experience, combining education, culture, and relaxation in a remarkable Arctic setting.
