Advanced Ice & Multi-Pitch

This advanced ice climbing course is designed for participants who want to take their skills to the next level and climb independently. Suitable for ages 8 and up, the course focuses on preparing climbers to safely and successfully lead both single and multi-pitch ice routes. Students will refine their knowledge of ice climbing techniques, including route finding at both macro and micro levels, and gain confidence in decision-making on the ice. This course is ideal for those ready to combine all prior skills into advanced, independent climbing.

Participants will engage in mock leads and practice taking the sharp end under the guidance of a certified instructor. Emphasis is placed on anchoring, transitions, and safety strategies to handle complex ice routes. Instruction is conducted at premier climbing locations such as the Wasatch Range, Provo, and Maple Canyon, providing a challenging and varied environment. By the end of the course, climbers will be equipped with the skills, confidence, and knowledge to lead advanced ice climbs independently.
