PADI Advanced Open Water Diver: Expanding Skills Beneath the Surface
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is designed to build on foundational scuba training, helping divers develop greater confidence, control, and awareness underwater. Over two days, participants are introduced to more advanced diving techniques and environments, moving beyond the basics of the Open Water certification.
The program includes five adventure dives, offering exposure to a variety of specialty experiences. At least three of these dives are conducted from boats in the waters of Jervis Bay, allowing divers to gain real-world experience in open-water conditions under instructor guidance.
Throughout the course, participants are introduced to essential diving tools and techniques used by more experienced divers. These include underwater navigation with a compass, buoyancy control using a DSMB and reel, low-light or night diving with a torch, and the use of a cutting tool for managing potential underwater hazards such as fishing line.
Learning is supported through a combination of PADI eLearning, classroom discussion, and practical in-water training. After booking, participants receive full course details via email, with sessions confirmed once minimum group numbers are met, ensuring a structured and well-supported learning environment.
