The PADI Rescue Diver course is designed to significantly enhance a diver’s awareness, confidence, and ability to handle emergency situations underwater. Moving beyond recreational diving skills, the program focuses on prevention, problem-solving, and response, helping divers learn how to anticipate issues before they become serious.
Throughout the course, participants engage in a blend of theory sessions, practical exercises, and realistic rescue scenarios under the supervision of a certified PADI Instructor. Training includes recognizing distressed or panicked divers, managing emergency situations, and assisting fellow divers safely and effectively in challenging conditions.
The course also introduces essential emergency response techniques, including the use of emergency oxygen equipment and providing basic care to injured divers. These hands-on skills are designed to improve overall safety awareness and prepare divers to act calmly and efficiently during underwater or surface incidents.
To enroll, participants must be at least 12 years old and hold a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification or equivalent. In addition, completion of EFR Primary and Secondary Care training (or equivalent first aid certification) within the last 24 months is required. This ensures that divers have the foundational knowledge needed to progress into more advanced safety-focused training.
