Little Penguin Talk With NPWS

Saving Sydney’s last little penguins is a vital mission, and this engaging talk invites you to learn all about the only remaining mainland colony in New South Wales. Sydney locals are fortunate to share their coastline with these charming seabirds, yet the Manly colony now consists of just 12–13 breeding pairs, making them incredibly vulnerable. During this session, you’ll explore the challenges they face—ranging from habitat loss and boat strikes to pollution and predation—while gaining a deeper understanding of their behaviour, breeding habits, and unique characteristics that make them so special.
