Christmas in the Castle Tour

For forty years, from the 1940s through the 1970s, the Raymond and Mildred Pitcairn family celebrated Christmas at Glencairn with remarkable traditions that reflected both elegance and warmth. Guests on this guided holiday tour will experience the festive atmosphere of the castle, complete with a concert, a large three-part Nativity scene, and a decorated tree that soared beyond the second-floor balcony. The tour also highlights the Christmas Day meal and other family customs, giving visitors a vivid sense of how the Pitcairns celebrated the holiday season in a 20th-century castle setting.

During the tour, your guide will lead you through various floors of Glencairn, including the tower and the main bedroom suite, offering a unique glimpse into the personal and festive spaces of the family. Additionally, visitors can enjoy self-guided access to the World Nativities exhibition either before or after the tour.
