Pretty good displays, but parts were tedious, especially as you backtrack some areas. If we go again the trolley is probably the way to do it. Part of the tour is on regular roads around the resort, making it a little less leisurely than you'd like

Best lights in the state! I have been going to the Wheeling Festival of Lights for many years, and each year they keep getting better! I began going when I was younger and have watched over time, the additions through the years. A wonderful drive thru, snowy walk through the village, mansion lights, nativity and huge musical tree! Wonderful for the kids. Lots of photo ops and fun to be had! Plenty of parking onsite. Credit and debit cards accepted. *Wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot, restroom

Love going through the Christmas themed lightening, it is very nice. You do not have to get out of your car in winter and enjoy them, just pay a donation of $20-$30and enjoy. Also don't forget to check out the Christmas Village and allow the children to ride the Gingerbread Train, it is so cute. Oglebay Resort is nice to check out too.

Our family comes every year and it’s always the best time! I am currently laying in the bed at the lodge after the most amazing time with my kids. I was worried it would be super busy with it being December 22nd but honestly it wasn’t too bad. I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews from this season and I’m not sure what went wrong for everyone else. Make sure you check what events are at what time and try to get as much packed in as you can. We discovered a $5 candy buffet this year. We don’t normally go into the shops but decided to check it out this year. My kids loved it! They also had lots of treats and items to buy. Next we went to the Santa photos which are only for 2 hours so if you don’t see Santa you probably missed the time frame. The line was long but moved fast.. no complaints from my kids. The Santa was also AMAZING! He was very interactive with my kids and made them feel super special. He took the time to read over both of their Christmas wish lists. After that we walked over to the Good Zoo where we enjoyed snacks and a laser light show followed by some animals downstairs. The sloth and red panda were both very active. The gift shop stayed open an extra 20 mins while my kids were searching for the perfect souvenir. They were very kind. After that we decided to leave and get pizza which we brought back to our room and changed into our pjs. Then we headed out for the light tour. It was amazing because we waited so late so there were only a few other cars out. We were really able to take our time and enjoy it. The lights were synced to the radio station they had advertised which had my kids mesmerized. My 9 year old son and 5 year old daughter had the most magical night. There were several other activities that we didn’t get to check out but there is definitely plenty to do. We can’t wait to come back next year!

A lot of traffic even in early November. The flow of traffic to see the lights wasnt very clear, which made it a bit frustrating. There were a few amazing light show types, but not as many lights as I would have thought and left a little disappointed, especially since I drove a few hours to see them. The Santa station was amazing though! Santa made the trip worth it! He was so bubbly and kind and brought a Christmas magic. He took the time talking with the kids and we get to see him and get a family portrait for free!! During the lights you will have to go through a bottleneck to offer donations. We did get a map, but it still wasnt helpful to where to see the lights easily (and this was near the end the way we entered). There are cute shops along the path, a historical mansion tour, ice skating, food, zoo, a few other activities but all cost additional tickets. The park looks beautiful, so I am considering visiting it in spring outside of high profile time and enjoy some of the extra things there. I dont think ill go back for the lights though.
