One of my favourite- and maybe best- city based distilleries I’ve been to. I work in the industry, so I’ve been a a few. How good this was, is likely down to my guide (Noah? Sorry I’m awful with names! - very fuzzy photo has been supplied!). Imma guide at The Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh, but I’ll admit to knowing little on-hand information about the Irish industry. Noah was funny, informative about both Irish whiskey and the history of the distillery and the Liberties area. I rocked up early for my tour and asked to join the one before, but as I was in my own Noah took me on my own private solo tour - VERY appreciative! As I work in the industry, we did skip over some of the more production part and he just let me ask questions and delved more into the history aspect. Really really enjoyed myself - I’ve recommended Liberties to my colleagues should they be in Dublin (so much so I’ll charge commission for each one I send over! Haha!!). I will also be back as I need a bottle of the Rascals Stout Cask!! Also took Noah’s suggestion for local pub for food - Copper Alley Bistro was a fantastic suggestion!

Great tour! Edwin is entertaining and knowledgeable, sharing history and the science/tradition of making the Finest Irish Whiskey. Mixing fun and sad parts of the long and storied history of Irish whiskey, I learned much and appreciate the fine state of modern Irish Whiskey. The tasting at the beginning and end was well portioned and certainly made me want more of this fine whiskey. Looking forward to enjoying a bottle very soon. Highly recommend this tour!!

Great tour! Kelly was our very friendly and knowledgeable guide. She did a great job teaching us about the history of Irish Whisky and the operation and process of making Whisky in this beautiful facility. Highly recommend this tour for someone looking for a more unique and personable experience

Visited on the recommendation of a friend from Dublin and it was quite good. We received a lot of interesting information about whiskey in Ireland, followed by plenty of information about the process and flavours involved. The tour ended with a quick intimate tasting of two further whiskeys. Very nice

Wow. I have so much to say about this place. My partner and I were visiting Dublin and we were looking for a whiskey distillery tour. Of course we heard about Jameson's which was quite popular but when I realized it wasn't an operating distillery, I decided against it. Next there was Teeling Whiskey distillery which was also close by but I read some bad reviews about it being crowded so again, I decided against that and went with The Dublin Liberties Distillery and WOW am I glad we did. This place is wonderful and the tour was intimate. There were only 5 of us booked (we didn't know each other) and our tour guide Kevin was amazing. He was so engaging and told us many stories about the history of the distillery, took us back in time with the myths and he was so funny and captivating. From the time we went in we were treated with warmth. He took his time taking us to each area and explaining everything. The welcome drinks were amazing. We got to go into each of the different rooms and learn how the whiskey is made, we got to engage all our senses: see, smell, taste, touch, listen. I even tasted the barley that is used to make the whiskey. The tasting was also superb. We had this big elegant room all to ourselves and Kevin explained how to taste each whisky. I don't even consider myself an alcohol person, I booked this experience for my husband but even I thoroughly enjoyed it and I could appreciate the whiskey. Honestly, I think this is the best tour I have ever had, and I don't just mean tours of distilleries but really the best tour experience I've had out of any. A big part of it had to do with our guide Kevin who is literally made for the job. The other part is just how great the distillery is. I would recommend for everyone to go here. Skip Jameson's, skip Teelings and go for this like one on one experience. We had the whole distillery tour to ourselves. It was so worth it.
