Since 2012, Boston History Company has been recognized for offering the best tours in Boston. While we've retired our buckle shoes and tricornered hats, our passion for storytelling remains stronger than ever. The Freedom Trail is filled with incredible Revolutionary War history, but its stories go far beyond redcoats and rebels. We believe every visitor should experience the full, rich history of Boston one of revolutionaries, visionaries, and pioneers who shaped the city and the nation.
Our tours introduce you to Boston’s founders, civic leaders, and colorful characters who made this city their home. Of course, icons like Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock take center stage, but have you ever heard about Ho Chi Minh’s time as a baker in one of Boston’s premier hotels? Or the lesser-known heroes who left their mark on the city's history? There’s always more to uncover, and we love bringing these stories to life.
Led by expert storytellers and historians, our tours offer a dynamic and immersive experience along the Freedom Trail. Each guide brings their own unique perspective, insider knowledge, and passion for the city's past. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning to deepen your knowledge, we invite you to join us and become a local expert yourself. There’s no better way to experience the revolutionary spirit of Boston than through the voices of those who know it best.

We took both the south and north end tours with two different but excellent guides. Our tour guides: Rob Crean and Jeremiah Poop were funny, incredibly knowledgeable, and made the history come alive in a way the self guided tour would not. They both gave us great dining recommendations as well.

July 2025 My family and I were visiting Boston and were very lucky to have Ben as our fearless leader and guide for the Freedom Trail Tour. Ben was so engaging, enthusiastic and funny while delivering an amazing amount of detailed Boston history! I had such a wonderful time- probably my favorite part of my Boston vacation. Thank you Ben. I really learned so much! Keep up the great work making history feel real, relevant and relatable. 😀

We went to Boston expecting to do our own self-guided tour as we know our history but had never been there. In the interest of time, we decided to do the walking tour at the visitor center. We couldn't have been more pleased with the very thorough and accurate historical information articulated by Ben. If you want a professional tour, you won't be disappointed. There were about 50 people on our tour. I'd say that's probably the max that should be allowed to go as stragglers cause the tour to go significantly over the 90min advertised tour length. They tell you it's closer to 2 hours but ended at about 2hrs 30min. However, Ben was excellent at moving everyone along. He was very professional as he motivated folks to move along. It was the perfect pace. I thought we knew a lot of history. Ben schooled us and it was worth every minute and the cost of only $20 each. Phenomenal!

Visited the Boston Freedom trail with my family. We ended up paying for the tour guide that was offered through the visitors center. Best decision we could have made. Our guide by the name of Ben was absolutely amazing. He was dressed like Benjamin Franklin and had an English accent. Was extremely knowledgeable and took his time explaining everything. My kids really enjoyed this experience and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Coming from the other end of the planet with very little knowledge of US history, this tour was amazing! It gave me a good sense of the ideals that led to the formation of the US. Ben was an incredible guide. He didn't just throw historical dates and facts at you, he strung it through relatable explanations with just the right amount of detail. He weaved in funny and often cheeky facts that made it memorable too. Highly recommended
