In the Dark: A New Way to Taste Slovak Wine Transforms the Senses

A unique sensory attraction is inviting visitors to explore Slovak winemaking through an unconventional format that removes sight from the equation entirely. The 45-minute “Tasting in the Dark” experience is designed to heighten awareness of aroma, taste, and texture, offering participants an immersive journey into the world of artisanal wine.

Guided by an audio narration produced by a local professional stand-up comedian, the session blends education with entertainment in an unusual format. Guests are led through four carefully selected 4 cl tastings of Slovak wines, each chosen to highlight distinct characteristics of the country’s winemaking tradition.

Seated in complete darkness, participants are encouraged to focus solely on sensory perception, creating a setting that emphasizes discovery over presentation. The absence of visual cues intensifies attention on subtle flavor profiles, making each tasting a more concentrated and reflective experience.

Available in German and designed for groups ranging from solo participants to 44 guests, the experience caters to both individuals and small groups seeking something distinctive. With no snacks provided, the focus remains entirely on the wines themselves, positioning the event as a blend of cultural education, entertainment, and sensory exploration.
