Fantastic experience at O Faia, everything was really great from service and ambiance to food and performers. I have only been to a couple of other places, and even though they were also from the top end of various guides and reviews, they did not compare to O Faia. I am not an expert on Fado, but the performers at O Faia were really good, strong voices backed by equally strong musical performance, and they interacted more with the audience than I have seen before, maybe because the setting is more intimate. It does not really matter what table you get, since the place is rather small, so you will be close to the performers no matter what table you get. Aside from the great Fado, what really felt different at O Faia was that the level of service and food, that completed the experience and was on par with the strong Fado performers. In other places it can feel as if the food and service is secondary, but at O Faia you feel that this is equally important, the waiters were super friendly, I guess they cover less guests than in other places, so they have more time to interact, small talk and deliver stellar service. I work in the Hotel & restaurant industry, so it was a joy to see how the service and food was flowing........ The food was really good, well presented, good taste and nicely curated selection of Portugese classics. Thanks to Joao who took really good care of us, and as you can see from the pictures, it is a really good idea (as always) to make good friends with the sommelier Nuno.....who treated us to some different rarities and specialties, and a great wine talk after the show, thanks Joao and Nuno, and cudos to the kitchen as well.
Traditional Portuguese restaurant in the old city centre. Set price menu has plenty of choice, with optional wine pairing. Live Fado music - 3 amazing singers (individual sets) accompanied by guitar and mandolin. Narrow streets are restricted to local residents and specific taxis so best to walk there. Wheelchair access would be tricky.
It’s was a while ago I gave a full 5 star review but this one deserves each one of them! The food was really nice and authentic Portuguese cuisine. Entertainment-wise I think I’m in love with fado! Can’t understand a word they’re singing but the feelings are the same no matter what! Man what a night! To top it off I must hand it to the great staff of this restaurant! So attentive, so professional, so kind! Other restaurants take note! This is how you give service! If there was i 6th star, I’d give it to the staff of this restaurant! This evening is a reason I will come back to Lisbon! Well done! 🫶🏻
We came to experience the fado. A unique experience for sure. Maybe not for us but still worth it. The food overall was less than average and not offering a la carte for those huge portions didn’t make it better. The best dish we had was the octopus one of the best i ever had. The desserts were interesting and delicious
One of the best meals I have ever had! Stunning performances from the incredibly talented musicians and singers who brought so much heart and soul to their performances.🙏💛 The atmosphere was perfect and the staff were impeccable and warm and welcoming. They also made a birthday dinner extra special. Wonderful evening all round. This one is a must. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
