This immersive eastern Madeira journey blends dramatic landscapes with rich cultural and historical heritage, creating a complete and memorable experience. The tour begins at Terreiro da Luta, once the final stop of the island’s historic cogwheel railway. Here you are greeted by the impressive statue of Our Lady of Peace, set atop four Roman style columns and surrounded by sweeping views. The route then leads to one of Madeira’s highest points at 1818 meters, where the panoramic mountain scenery offers extraordinary photo opportunities. From the peaks, the experience continues into the heart of the UNESCO listed Laurissilva Forest at Ribeiro Frio, a lush habitat home to rare native flora and fauna. Visitors can also see the traditional trout farm, supplied with crystal clear levada water.
The journey then continues to Santana, famous for its brightly colored triangular houses with thatched roofs, where you enjoy an extended lunch break and time to explore the charming village. Afterward, the tour moves to the Portela viewpoint, offering dramatic vistas of mountain chains descending toward the sea and the impressive Penha d’Águia rock formation. The route then shifts to Madeira’s easternmost tip, where Ponta do Rosto reveals contrasting views of both the north and south coasts. The nearby Ponta de São Lourenço peninsula displays a striking semi arid landscape shaped by strong winds and unique geological formations, now a protected natural reserve. The day concludes in the historic town of Machico, the landing point of Madeira’s discoverers in 1419. With its peaceful bay, charming center and small golden sand beach, it offers the perfect ending to a diverse and captivating journey.

It was a very enjoyable tour. We saw many beautiful things, and the stops were long enough. The guide was very nice, funny, and told us a lot.

We just returned from an 8-day trip to Korea, traveling as two couples. Our journey included Jeju Island, the Busan area, and the Seoul area. May from Go East Travel planned the entire trip for us, arranging everything from domestic flights and hotels to daily guided tours. Before finalizing the itinerary, May took the time to consult with us and understand our preferences and interests. Her suggestions reflected that input well. The trip was executed smoothly — each day, our guide/driver arrived on time, were well-prepared, and had a great attitude. Overall, we had a wonderful time and truly enjoyed the experience that May organized for us. Thank you, May!

We have just returned from 16 wonderful days in Vietnam together with another 2 couples. Go East did a great job, as with all trips there are certain things I would have done differently, but on the whole it was a great itinerary and well organised. We were very impressed by the service we received from Lang in the Hanoi office. Also our guide Mr. Thang was amazing.

We went on a family trip to India with GoEast. We've been to Delhi, Jaipur, Agra and Varanasi. Everything was perfect! The plan was excellent and all our questions were answered before the flight in the most professional manner. The guides and drivers in each location were professional, friendly and punctual. The hotels were very good. We had a wonderful trip with lots of special experiences. We highly recommend travelling with GoEast!
