This tour offers a unique dusk-to-dawn experience in the historic city of Malacca, once considered the historical capital of Malaysia. Unlike Kuala Lumpur, Malacca holds a special place as the site of the earliest Malaysian sultanates and is one of the oldest trading cities in the world. Strategically located along the Straits of Malacca, it attracted colonial powers such as the Portuguese, Dutch, and British, whose influence remains evident in the city’s culture, architecture, and lifestyle. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008, Malacca has become a popular destination for travelers seeking rich history and vibrant heritage.

Your journey begins at Dutch Square, home to the iconic salmon-pink town hall and the Stadthuys museum, showcasing Malaccan artifacts. Experience a fun ride on a local “beca” (decorated trishaw with music) through scenic photo stops. Admire the remnants of the Portuguese fortress A Famosa, one of Southeast Asia’s oldest European structures. A guided walk through the historic center highlights Portuguese and Dutch influences at landmarks like Porta de Santiago and Stadthuys. Afterward, enjoy a traditional Malaccan lunch before visiting Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, Malaysia’s oldest functioning temple, and exploring the bustling Jonker Street with its antiques, souvenirs, and local delicacies. The tour concludes with a relaxing river cruise through Malacca’s colorful, illuminated cityscape.

Malacca river cruise is a must to try ! But do note that they only accept card and not cash so please prepare your travel card for payment. Best timing would be between 6-7pm as it is less warm. It depends on what you want to experience, if u prefer to see the night life of malacca then take the ferry between 7-8pm. If u prefer seeing the landmarks of malacca which are full of colours painted on their walls, then take the ferry in the morning.

I had a really nice experience with the River Water Cruise in Melaka. Even though the distance I took was short from the jetty to my hotel it was very enjoyable. Instead of the big cruise boat, I chose the water taxi, and I think it was the better option. The water taxi felt more private and comfortable since I could enjoy the ride with my family without being in a crowded boat. The best part is you can even arrange with the boat driver where you want to stop, and payment is simple with QR code. The night view along the river was beautiful, with colorful lights shining on the riverside and historic town buildings, making the whole trip very relaxing and memorable. Definitely a different way to enjoy Melaka!

Cruise was well decorated and comfy. Cuise's sound system was well furnished and describes the whole history wonderfully. Though the waiting time to get on the cruise was too much. In fact we missed our bus back to KL due to that long wait for hopping on the cruise.

The staff were friendly and helpful. It was very easy to get the ticket and then line up for the boat. We do not have to wait long for the ride. Nice experience cruising the river with beautiful buildings adorning both sides of the river. We were treated with information on the history of Melaka while enjoying the ride. It was breezy as we took the boat in the evening while the sun is almost setting. It's nice that we can capture the sceneries for both sides at the same time. This cruise opens early and end quite late in the evening. It's worth it.

It was very hot in melacca.. try getting an umbrella with you even if its cloudy in kualalumpur. Good scenic view. You can take boat as well but walking gives even better experience. Do remember the walk would be around 1.5 kms around the river one side...
