This is the bus station for route 44 from the Airport to the Central Bus Station (CBS) with a few stops along the way. Departures are not very frequent so check the schedule. The ticket is currently K40,000 per person.

Probably they have a good service but we didn’t have an opportunity to check it out. We bought tickets at the counter and said we were going to Vang-Vieng after we reach the station. The worker who sold the tickets said it to her colleague in the bus and they dropped us off at another point saying that we had to continue our journey on tuk-tuk. According to them, tuk-tuk would get us to Sout Chai company to travel to Vang-Vieng. In the end, Sout Chai stole a lot of money from our bag. Why did this airport bus drop us off earlier?! We didn’t ask them to do it. We just shared our plan. Well, we are pretty sure that the airport bus and Sout Chai have an agreement. Be careful!

Unfortunately the airport shuttle bus advertised on the airport website is not running (and seems as though it hasn’t been for some time). Use Loca instead for a more affordable rate than the taxis/vans at the arrival desks (~90 000 kip to the city centre).

Bus does not exist. Waited, had nothing to do but admire the sunset so did that. Had a quick side trip to the taxi stand who wanted 187000 for much the same trip. Anyway we then discovered (not from taxi guys) There Is No Bus. Used rideshare app Loca for something like 100000.

You can buy a ticket at the booth in the airport, or on the bus. The price is 15000kip. Do take note of the schedule that the bus leaves from the airport. Frequency is about 40 to 50 minutes. The bus conductor will announce each stop by the stop name and then the stop number (e.g. A1). Before the bus leaves the airport, the conductor will also check which stop you are alighting at.
