It's under construction and it's a disaster...so we were are on the same page we flew to Venice and got bussed 2.5 hour to Ravenna...it's so disheveled our driver turned into the wrong lot.The walk from where we were dropped to the ship was about 2000 yards...a complete and utter disaster.I was told to stand and wait for workers to drag me my luggage...I chose to grab my own...until it's fixed...I ain't going back.

Secure area, not a tourist stop. The other reviews about not allowed in? This is a staging / waiting area for cruises. It's a very large structure, servicing many lines. It's clean and has border police and passport restrictions in effect. We fisrt took a water taxi from the Rialto area in Venice for 100€. It was about a 20-minute boat ride through the Venice canals, to the staging area, where we dropped off our luggage. We then walked around the terminal about a half a mile to where we boarded a transport ferry to the main boat. We shuttled here from Venice and began our MSC cruise from this port. This is a rally point to catch a shuttle transfer to the larger cruise ships parked in deeper waters. About a 20min ferry ride East of this point. Added 2 Google map screenshots for reference.

We wound up taking a cruise that put us into a different port and won up buying a ticket to the Venice port from Trieste.
