Our stables are open year round from nine am daily, offering a range of horseback experiences including hacking, trekking, and trail riding. Choose from one, two, or three hour guided rides that bring you deep into the park's most picturesque landscapes, making it a perfect adventure for both beginners and experienced riders alike.
Killarney National Park, designated a UNESCO Biosphere is renowned for its extraordinary natural beauty and ecological importance. The trails wind past Lough Lein, the largest of the park’s three lakes, offering sweeping views of majestic mountains, rolling hills, and diverse wildlife habitats. Riders will journey through areas rich with native flora and fauna, enjoying a peaceful and immersive experience within this Special Area of Conservation.
All trail rides are guided by experienced staff, and we cater to riders of all skill levels. For those without gear, we provide riding hats and boots to ensure safety and comfort. We can accommodate groups of up to sixteen with additional horses available upon request for larger parties. Whether you're seeking a tranquil escape into nature or a unique way to explore Killarney’s beauty, our horseback riding experiences offer an unforgettable adventure.

Our family of 3 had a private hour long ride through the national park and it was one of the best experiences of our whole trip. Our guides were wonderful helping us get situated on the horses and the horses themselves were wonderful for first time riders. We got beautiful views of the park and were able to get super close to the wild deer. Highly recommend this experience.
The horses are fantastic and intelligent. The guides are knowledgeable and helpful as well, and give excellent instruction for mounting, riding, and dismounting. They provide boots and helmets free of charge, and have multiple sizes and sanitize both after each group. The trail the guides take you on is gorgeous, with great views of the Irish countryside. You will also see some of the wildlife, which are equally gorgeous.
We Had a lovely Ride through Killarney National Park. We decided to explore the Park on horseback and went to the stable to check our oppurtunities. The staff was very friendly and explained a lot and we could book directly at the stable (online booking is also possible). Boots and helmets are provided. Directly before the ride the staff asked every person about their Riding Level and (for advanced Riders) also horse preferences. We (advanced Riders) got a perfect match and the horses were so sweet and a lot of fun. For 6 people we Had 4 Guides and they were very friendly and explained a lot about the national Park. They always checked on us and made sure everyone was having a great time and got along with their horse. We went as mixed group of beginner and advanced riders and advanced Riders were also able to canter through the woods. It was very well organized and the staff took some great Pictures at a Photo Stop. The horses seemed happy and healthy. We saw the horses together in the field in the evening with a lot of social contact and space. They really seemed to enjoy their Job and having fun. I would recommend this experience to any kind of Rider, beginner, advanced or even never on a horse. They have horses fitting all sizes and riding Levels and rides for 1, 2 or 3 hours. I booked a 1 hour trail with Killarney Riding Stables for my partner as a gift and she was delighted by this surprise! The views were fantastic and the horses Pippin and Rae were very nice and well behaved. The horses seem to be very well taken care of. The staff is great, friendly and helpful. They even agreed to change the date of our trail without any problem. We were complete beginners and everything went great! It's such a wonderful experience! I would recommend it without a doubt to anyone interested. 10/10 👍
Great start to the day, all guides were fantastic, friendly and helpful. I had no riding experience and they provided positive support and guidance. We chose a two hour ride, beautiful scenery, learning the history from the guides and we’re well looked after. Thank you for an amazing time.
