Killarney and its surroundings offer a diverse range of cycling routes, making it a fantastic destination for electric biking. Whether you choose to explore the town, visit the historic Ross Castle, cycle around the nearby lakes, or venture further into the countryside, there’s a route to suit every preference. One of the most scenic and rewarding options is a ride into Killarney National Park, beginning in the heart of the town. As you cycle along Muckross Road and cross the Flesk Bridge, you'll reach a dedicated cycling path that leads directly into the park. This path is shared with walkers and traditional Jaunting cars, offering a charming blend of old and new ways of exploring the area.
A must-see stop along the way is Muckross Abbey, a beautifully preserved 15th-century ruin nestled within Yew Valley Wood. Take a moment to admire its vaulted cloisters and atmospheric stone walls before continuing past Muckross Traditional Farms and the grand Victorian mansion of Muckross House. Visitors can take guided tours of the house or explore the working farms, which provide an immersive glimpse into rural Irish life. Nearby, Muckross Craft Centre offers a variety of workshops, including bookbinding, weaving, and pottery, as well as a restaurant and shop filled with local crafts and produce.
Beyond Muckross House, a short walk leads to the breathtaking Torc Waterfall, cascading down the mountainside in a serene woodland setting. For those with extra time, the Muckross-Dinis loop around Muckross Lake is a fantastic option, offering unparalleled views of the landscape. This route must be followed in an anti-clockwise direction, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride. No matter which path you take, cycling through Killarney on an electric bike is an incredible way to experience its rich history, natural beauty, and vibrant culture.

One of the most enjoyable activities I've done in Ireland. The bikes were greats - sturdy and comfortable to use. The weather was great and the scenery was phenomenal. Would recommend the full red route around the lakes and seeing the waterfall. Thanks Martin.

We did the boat and bike tour through Dunloe Pass. It was so much fun. Make sure you book both of them in advance and get there early to make sure you don't miss the boat.

We loved our experience at Killarney Bike Rental. We rented E-bikes so the ride couldn't have been easier! The gentleman we met was fun and so helpful. He gave us a map and told us what not to miss and we had a fantastic time. I highly recommend seeing this park this way. We were able to see areas the tour buses had trouble getting into and the nature was beautiful and serene.

Very sweet and down to earth crew. Rented 4 pedal bikes and they all ran well, were comfortable, 7 rear gears, and they had helmets to lend with the bike. My personal opinion is that bicycles are the best way to see everything in the park in a timely manner. We were able to see the house, Abby, and climb to the top of the waterfall and make it back in 3 hours even with a few wrong turns. Excellent views. And don't worry Martin! I'm a hugger, not a fighter.

We absolutely loved our experience e-biking the long route of the Killarney National Park. The staff gave us a map and detailed explanation of how to navigate the paths. And he had great tips for the rest of our Ireland trip too. This is a great way to explore the park!
