We went there a bit too late as park was already closed but still managed to get a great views just before heading to airport.
Beautiful castle and definitely worth the hike up to it lol so much history in every stone walked on and still standing.
Excellent view of castle from a distance. Castle on the background and fountain on the front is one of the most loved photography and selfie attractions. Lot of benches are been established along the walking path. You could take a short walk, sit on the bench, watching the park, doing chit chats, sharing photos, eating snacks and many more as you like. Also, keep an eye on the sea gulls, they might steal your snacks😂.
Park at the PCP ( Palace Car Park ) and pay your £6 an hour, then take the short walk through the gardens, and you will be rewarded with great photos.
If you visit the castle and look over the wall, you’re more than likely to see this amazing fountain down below. I recommend that you see it from both vantage points. Go to the fountain and look up at the beauty of the castle. Then go up to the castle and look down at the beauty of the park and the fountain. If the weather is good, the park is a perfect place to just sit back and relax and enjoy the beauty and splendor that Edinburgh has to offer.
