The journey continues to Dahshur, where you’ll discover the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid, both built for King Sneferu. We shared a magical Day with our tour guide Nabil from Let’s Explore Egypt Tours. Nabil had a day to cherish beautifully organised. Beginning with our pickup (driver Sam was great with the traffic) we journeyed early to Pyramids/Sphinx. We beat the heat and the crowds thanks to Nabil’s advice. Camel ride, market stops, very timely Turkish Lunch then New Egyptian Museum. Nabil was very knowledgeable in his presentation of several chosen exhibits - then time at leisure to explore. We so appreciated Nabil’s guidance and insights into the history and current living styles in Egypt. This is a day we will cherish.

Booking a private tour through Lets Explore Egypt was the best choice ever! We booked straight through the company’s website which gave us better pricing and a discount code! Having a private tour was way better than the large group tours we saw at the site. Our tour guide Abdul was amazing! He was a wealth of information and did a great job answering our kids questions. He was very flexible and adapted to our needs (eg multiple washroom breaks lol and abandoning camel ride due to our daughters anxiety). Abdul took photos for us so we could relax and enjoy the sites more. When we got the photos we were thrilled with the good quality and perfect shots. We got a chance to visit an essence scent shop which at first we didn’t think we needed but the 20 min visit was worth it as kids enjoyed the smells, appreciated the free fresh mint lemonade and then we ended up buying a Menth Essence which we can’t wait to use back home. Similarly we stopped at a papyrus factory and cartouche shop. Lunch was great and our kids even asked for second helping of the soup! Our driver was fantastic at pulling up close to entrances and was always ready close by when we were ready to go. He was great at navigating the crazy traffic and streets of Egypt. Only negative was no working seatbelts for most of us, but seems seatbelt safety isn’t as common here as back home. Abdul and our driver were helpful in ensuring we had water before our trip. Overall, we were so happy we booked a private tour just for the convenience, and Abdul’s professionalism and high level knowledge of Egypt made our site seeing day 10/10!

Gamal was a pleasure to be with. His witty sense of humour and happy demeanour made the day a lot of fun. His knowledge is extensive and you can tell he is passionate about delivering a great experience to all that join him. Our driver Tark was also a joy to have as a chauffeur and if you book a tour of the Giza area I hope you are lucky enough to get this amazing duo. The food was also great and Gamal even took the time to call ahead and order for us to keep us on schedule. Thanks again Gamal and Tark for a wonderful experience!! Only caveat is...be prepared for a 9am start if you book for an 8am start. Reason being, this VIP tour can be for up to 4 people so if part of the group chooses a 9am start (not sure why there are 2 start time options when booking) be prepared for an hour delay.

A serious problem that should raise a warning I recently took a pyramid tour in Giza, Egypt, and hope that by sharing my experience, I can help prevent people from having the same experience in the future. The tour content was significantly different from what was explained to us in advance. The big problem was that we only got to see the pyramids and the Sphinx, which are the main tourist attractions, from the outside, and the Sphinx was only seen from the road inside the site, so there was not enough time to view them. In addition, the explanation in advance said that a 30-minute camel ride experience was included, but in reality it was only about 10 minutes. Furthermore, the "lunch at a restaurant with a pyramid view" was actually a regular local restaurant. There were also additional stops at a perfume shop and an art shop that were not scheduled, which were clearly detours for business purposes. The most unpleasant thing was that we were forced to write a review immediately while in the car. Moreover, we were asked to review a tour that was different from the one we had booked. The price was significantly higher than the quality of the tour. We asked for a refund, but they only gave us a paltry 10% refund. In conclusion, this day was a huge waste of our precious travel time. There are many areas that need improvement, such as the service content that is not commensurate with the price, the discrepancy with the advance notice, and the aggressive request for reviews. Egypt is a tourist destination with great historical value. However, we believe that such inappropriate tour management greatly diminishes its value as a tourist destination. We hope that a better tourist experience will be provided in the future. We hope that by sharing this experience, those who visit Egypt next time will be able to make a better choice.

We booked a one-day tour in Cairo with Let’s Explore Egypt, covering the Pyramids of Giza, Sakkara, Dahshur, and Memphis, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience—thanks to our amazing guide, Asmaa. Asmaa brought the ancient sites to life through her storytelling, helping us imagine the grandeur, history, and intricate details of each place we visited. Her knowledge of the history, architecture, and significance of the sites was outstanding, and she communicated everything so clearly in English, even though she primarily guides Spanish-speaking tours. What made the experience truly special, though, was Asmaa’s warm personality and eagerness to share not only Egypt’s rich ancient history but also her personal experiences and stories about life in Cairo. She was open, engaging, and genuine, helping us connect with Egypt and its people on a deeper level. By the end of the day, we felt like we hadn’t just taken a tour—we had made a friend. We left with a greater appreciation for Egypt and memories we will cherish forever. If you’re considering a tour in Cairo, we can’t recommend Let’s Explore Egypt and Asmaa enough! You won’t regret it.
