I recently traveled with Imaginative Felucca Aswan, and overall it was a very good experience. Yassin organized everything for us, including the trips to Abu Simbel, the High Dam, and Philae Temple. The schedule was clear, and he made sure we were always comfortable and knew what to expect. We spent two nights on the felucca on the way to Kom Ombo, which was a peaceful and relaxing part of the trip. The fresh fruits on board were a nice touch. After Kom Ombo, we continued to Luxor, where the journey ended smoothly. Yassin was helpful, responsive, and managed the trip well. It felt organized without being rushed, and we enjoyed the experience
Of so many tour operators offering felucca rides, we were glad to have chosen imaginative tour ! Their representative WhatsApp us within the day we booked the tour to confirm yasin with us the tour details timing and pick up location. Guide picked us up on time and we ride the felucca for 1h then change to motorboat for another 1h going round the elephantine island. Tour was supposed to include botanical garden but because we chose the sunset timing and the garden was near closing time, so we could not visit the garden, it was fine for us but just wished the tour agent informed us during our booking rather than on the spot during our tour. Our guide Mohamed was polite and gave us recommendations on places for dining. Great trip on the felucca, very serene and beautiful views of Aswan!
Last night was my 66th birthday and I have never in my 66 years enjoyed my birthday so much. Yasin and his crew of wonderful young men picked me up and pampered me with a birthday cake, balloons that said happy birthday in Arabic, and smiles that I will never forget as they sang to me on my boat! I’m sure you can just pick up a Felucca from somewhere, but you really should call Yasin! I put my faith in him to carry a once in a lifetime opportunity and he did more than I expected! And that’s the honest truth! Shukran Yasin!
An amazing felucca trip with Captain Yassin! He knows the Nile very well and made the journey both safe and fun. The hospitality was unforgettable, and Mohamed is a fantastic cook who served delicious meals with fresh fruits. We loved visiting Kom Ombo Temple and Horus Temple in Edfu, and ended our trip happily in Luxor. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and relaxing Nile experience
Feluccas are a truly special part of the Nile River’s history — these traditional wooden sailboats have been gliding along the waters of Egypt for thousands of years, long before motorboats appeared. In Aswan, they are especially iconic, offering a timeless, peaceful way to experience the beauty of the Nile, far from the noise of the city. I was lucky to reconnect with Yasin, a felucca captain I had met a few years ago during a stay on Elephantine Island. This time, although I only had time for a one-night trip, it was absolutely amazing and even better than I remembered. Yasin organized everything so thoughtfully. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and at ease the entire time. He and his team were incredibly hospitable, preparing delicious meals, planning lovely stops for short walks around small towns, finding perfect sunset viewing spots, and setting up a safe, comfortable campsite complete with a mosquito net and plenty of bathroom breaks along the way. Every detail was taken care of. What stood out even more was that Yasin remembered the places he had shown me during my previous trip and thoughtfully planned a new itinerary with different stops so that I could see new parts of Aswan. His attention to detail and genuine hospitality made the whole experience feel personal and special. Felucca sailing is such a peaceful, authentic way to slow down and enjoy the Nile, and getting away from the bustle of Aswan for a night was the perfect reset. Yasin offers many different trip options, so if you have more time, I highly recommend working with him to customize a longer journey. For any solo travelers, especially women, peace of mind and feeling taken care of are priceless — and with Yasin and his team, I had exactly that.
