Historic fortress. 1,5 hour walk from city center of Sevlievo. Beautiful view over the valley
Short pleasant walk among the houses in 'Krushevski bair' from the centre of Sevlievo will take you to this stunning remains of a ancient fortress. Drive is possible too but not as enjoyable.
I didn't know about this fortress and was very pleasantly surprised when visited it. Work hours are from 09:00 until 17:00, but this is only for the museum part. Museum is consisting of 3 houses representing the medieval tradition of house building and day to day life of the Bulgarians. The ticket is 6 BGN per about, or 3 Euro. There is a family ticket for two adults and one child at the amount of 10 BGN or 5 Euro. The rest of the fortress is free to visit. To the main tower of the fortress there is around 20 minutes hike upwards on the hill with a good path to follow. The views are amazing and there are a lot of spots to rest, to have a picnic or just chill. The lady at the entrance is cool, and there is a possibility for a lecture in Bulgarian for 20 BGN or in English for 30 BGN or 15 Euro. The fortress hosts theatrical plays and concerts. During the night it is beautifully lightened. There is good road to the fortress and parking.
