About the Thracian Cult Complex in Starosel The Thracian Cult Complex in Starosel is one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Bulgaria, featuring a large temple and royal tomb from the late 5th century BC. Its well-preserved stone architecture, ritual stairways and striking hilltop location make it a remarkable window into Thracian spiritual life. Professor Georgi Kitov was the archaeologist who led the excavations at Starosel. He was known for his extensive work on Thracian culture and for uncovering some of the most significant Thracian burial sites in the country.
Adrian was very knowledgeable and a great guide. We had discussions in many topics ranging from archaeology, history and social issues. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and would highly recommend the tour.
Ivo was a great guide, very knowledgeable of Bulgarian history. The visits to Koprivshtica and the Thracian "tomb" gave us a good view of both recent and ancient history of the area.
