I took the Rila monastery tour on a Saturday, the agency had around 200 participants in 3 buses. But it was still run efficiently in alternate schedule, to avoid big crowds gathering in one place, and prolonged waiting due to bottleneck. Very seamless operation, together with other tour providers & the various sites. Our guide Lubo is very experienced & gave very clear explanations. Rila monastery is an imperative destination in Bulgaria & it’s so beautiful. Although the tour is economical and hassle free, one is trapped with full bus load of strangers for long hours. What is super helpful is Traventuria pre-send the smart audio guide the night before the tour, so we can check up all background, history, site details earlier & get well prepared.

Boyana Church is nice with the option to purchase an entry ticket if interested. Rila Monastery has lovely architecture & surrounded by beautiful mountains. Lubo from Travenruia was an entertaining and engaging tour guide without being too overbearing and gave us the right amount of information. You have 3 hours to spend at the monastery which might be a bit much if you aren’t planning on visiting the hermit cave. All in all however a good day out and definitely one to do if you’re in Bulgaria!

Me and my group had a very pleasant experience of this tour! From breathtaking views on top of the fortress to enchanting sights inside the caves. Our lovely guide, Maria, did an excellent job in showing us around and even gave us a yummy recommendation for lunch :) Also shoutout to our driver, who drove us around for hours and made sure we arrived and returned safely. Only downside to the tour was the length of the time we actually got to spend at the destinations, especially the caves (~1 hour), as it felt short in comparison to the time we spent commuting with the bus (~6 hours). Still, a very cool experience and surely recommend! ᵕ̈
