Teddy’s tour was the best I have ever attended after many decades of travel. This tour is for you if you like to get off the beaten path and immerse yourself in a neighborhood, from the food and drink to the arts and music. We listened to fado and Brazilian jazz. We went to hidden spaces. We heard stories of the characters who live (or lived) there. We ate not only pasties de nata but also samosas, a nutty appetizer in a community sports club, a breath cleanser from a Bangladeshi street vendor and Argentinian steak. But what I am most impressed with is how hard Teddy works to build a community and friendships. That is what I will remember long after I forget the delicious wines and treats.
We had an unforgettable tour with Teddy. The tour was scheduled for 3 hours but ran well beyond that and we enjoyed every moment with it. We have been to Lisbon many times but Teddy introduced us to many new places and experiences on his tour. He asked for our interests and preferences prior to the tour. Every one of them were reflected in the tour. He also included some unexpected experiences during the tour and we loved all of them. The tour was an outstanding that was worth well more than the cost. We will tour with Teddy again on future visits to Lisbon.

This is hands down the best tour I’ve ever done in Lisbon. Calling it a “tour” feels like a disservice because Teddy gave us a full on experience, from taking us to different multi-cultural food and live music spots, showing us very local areas, amazing view points, and less touristy parts of the city. We visited the south Asian and African neighborhoods of the city, discussed how migration patterns have left an imprint on Lisbon’s culture, tourism’s impact on local life, and how Portugal has evolved throughout history. We even went to an underground samba spot that was such a highlight. 11/10 recommend - this is a must do if you are in Lisbon, you will have a much richer understanding of the city.
