Zurenborg is a district in the southeast of Antwerp, mostly developed between 1894 and 1906, which is characterized by a high concentration of Art Nouveau townhouses. It is relatively close to the historic center and is a great place to walk and admire the architectural sights. I personally passed through it on my way to the Tram Museum and it was a real pleasure. Don't miss the market, as well as the St. Norbert Church next to it.
We did the tour with Maria who was an exceptional guide with a huge wealth of knowledge on the Art Nouveau period and also some fascinating personal insights and theories about that period from her own research. She delved into the links between the Art Nouveau movement and political parties of the time and we left with some of her lovely photo postcards. A really enjoyable experience with some very intelligent discourse.
