We had a couple of good dive days with Silent World on Certified Diver trips. Positives: + We reached out in advance to schedule our dives, and the booking staff answered all of our questions and were helpful. + The gear we rented was in good condition. + The divemasters were pleasant and knowledgeable, and we felt safe with their skills. Room for Improvement: ~ The dive boat did have a marine "head" (bathroom), but it was set up so that the captain had to lift a hatch for you to use it, so it wasn't the kind of thing to use casually or without the entire boat knowing your business. ~ Since we were 2-tank dives, there was a snack and sandwich included, but it was a below average amount of snack and a sandwich that was very skimpy on meat, so bring your own snacks! Also of note: This isn't the dive company's fault, but... We went to Las Marietas and Mahajuitas, and the visibility wasn't excellent, and there honestly wasn't that much wildlife to see. We were there around the same time as a major storm, so maybe it would be better other times.
I like the owners. I like the prices. Our dive instructor did not lead us. It was my girlfriend's first two dives. The instructor did not lead. Instead he held my girlfriend's hand the entire time and ignored me the whole time. He even "found" a bracelet on the ocean floor and gave it to her. He also had me go drive to park and leave them alone while he pool instructed her for an hour and then take a boat to meet them later. So if you want a grinder instructor who will make romantic gestures to you partener, this is the place to go. The flippers given were not secure with straps. The masks leaked. He did not check if I was okay. The instructor really ruined my experience. At the end of everything, I still gave him 1000 peso tip and he still never helped us log our dives. Also, they never gave us dive computers or offered to take our pictures. I would not use this company again. My experience was ruined.
Professional and experienced guides. My wife bought us a scuba tour for my birthday and it was her first time ever. She is nervous in the ocean and our dive master Paola was very good and kept her calm and having fun the whole time. We saw lots of sea life at Los Arcos. I hope to come back again some day.
We loved our diving experience in Puerto Vallarta and can't wait for our next trip. The crew was terrific—very friendly and knowledgeable. The boat trip to our dive location was about an hour. We got to see dolphins and lots of marine life! On our second dive, we went into a cave and through an arch.
Would give it 6 stars if I could! Everything was perfect: customer service, communication, instructions, quality of equipment, friendliness, knowledgeability... you name it! It was great. Yadira was our instructor for the PADI Open Water Certification, and she inspired safety and confidence from day 1, which is crucial for new divers. She was always very attentive to any of our needs and customized the pace to make sure we were always comfortable and learning well. Not only did she teach us, but she also inspired and motivated us. I can confidently say that if it wasn't because of her and the team, we wouldn't have this new passion for scuba diving. We'll be coming back for recreational dives as soon as we get the chance!
