Historic Presidential Yacht San Francisco Bay Cruise
Step aboard Franklin D Roosevelts restored presidential yacht for a scenic three hour journey across San Francisco Bay. The historic USS Potomac offers a unique opportunity to experience presidential history while enjoying beautiful views from the water aboard the only operating presidential yacht in the United States.
As the ship cruises through the bay, knowledgeable docents provide live narration about FDR, the waterfront, and important surrounding landmarks. Guests can admire views of Alcatraz, Angel Island, the Bay Bridge, and the Golden Gate Bridge while learning more about the history connected to the region.
The cruise also offers opportunities to explore the historic vessel through docent led or self guided tours. Seasonal themed cruises and special events provide additional ways to experience the Potomac throughout the year, making each sailing a distinctive historical and scenic experience.
Guests should arrive early at the Potomac Visitor Center for check in and may watch a short historical film before boarding. Flat soled shoes are required because of steep stairs and uneven surfaces. The vessel has limited accessibility, with wheelchairs restricted to the main deck and no physical assistance provided by crew or docents.
