Your experience begins with round transportation from your hotel on Holbox Island in a golf cart, providing an easy and distinctive way to travel around the island. The exact pickup time depends on the moon phase and current conditions. Tours normally begin between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM, while departures may be later closer to the full moon. During the days leading up to the full moon, tours are typically scheduled between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM when conditions are more suitable for viewing the bioluminescence.

Once you reach the bioluminescent area, you will have the opportunity to interact with the water and observe the glowing effect created by natural organisms. You can dip your hands or feet into the water and watch the light appear with movement while your expert guide explains how the phenomenon occurs and shares information about the local ecosystem. The tour is designed to be accessible for different guests, and strong swimming skills are not required because the interaction takes place in shallow areas.

The duration and exact schedule can change depending on weather conditions and the moon phase. The most visible displays are typically associated with darker moon conditions, particularly around the new moon, although tours operate throughout the month and times are adjusted according to conditions. The intensity of the bioluminescence cannot be guaranteed because it depends on natural factors. If weather conditions prevent the tour from operating safely, it will be rescheduled or fully refunded.
