Fly Fishing for Tarpon in Holbox

Experience an exciting six hour fly fishing adventure in the pristine waters surrounding Holbox Island, a renowned destination for tarpon fishing. Designed for anglers aged 12 and above, this experience offers the chance to pursue powerful fish known for their strength, fast runs, and acrobatic displays. With a small group size of up to four people, the tour offers a focused fishing experience guided by professionals who know the local waters and fishing conditions.

The day begins with a 7:00 AM departure from your hotel on Holbox Island as you travel toward the fishing grounds. From approximately 7:30 AM until 1:00 PM, spend your morning fly fishing for tarpon, snook, and other seasonal species. Professional guides will assist with fishing techniques and strategy, helping both experienced anglers and those looking to improve their fly fishing skills make the most of their time on the water.

The excursion takes place from a well equipped boat with high quality fly fishing rods, reels, and tackle available for the fishing session. Bait and flies suitable for tarpon and other species are also provided, allowing you to focus on casting and fishing. Between casts, enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the Holbox waters and refreshments from the onboard cooler, including beer, water, and soft drinks.

After the fishing session, the boat returns toward Holbox at approximately 1:15 PM, with drop off scheduled around 1:30 PM at your hotel or designated location. Fishing success depends on seasonal conditions and individual skill, so a particular catch cannot be guaranteed and refunds are not available for low catch rates. If weather conditions prevent the tour from operating, it will be rescheduled or refunded in full. Pregnant women cannot participate, and guests should bring suitable clothing, non slip shoes, polarized sunglasses, and biodegradable sunscreen.
