Snowmobile Ice Fishing Adventure Explores Frozen Lakes of Lapland

A five and a half hour snowmobile and ice fishing adventure offers visitors an exciting way to explore the winter landscapes of Swedish Lapland. The journey travels through Arctic forests and across frozen rivers before reaching a peaceful fishing lake. Along the way, a guide shares information about the local nature wildlife culture and unique ecosystems of the region.

After arriving at the fishing lake, guests receive instructions on using the fishing equipment before settling onto reindeer skins beside freshly drilled holes in the ice. Participants can try their luck at catching species such as perch and whitefish while enjoying the quiet surroundings. No previous fishing experience is required, making the activity suitable for beginners.

While guests fish, a warming lunch is prepared over an open fire in the peaceful outdoor setting. The tour includes approximately 20 to 25 kilometers of snowmobile driving, with stops along the route for safety checks and information about the surrounding environment. Children under 13 travel in a sled pulled by the guide, while children under 5 must have an adult seated with them in the sled.

The experience is suitable for participants aged 3 and above, while drivers must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid car driving license. Guests should meet at Torggatan 4 in Kiruna, with standard snowmobile check in 30 minutes before the official start time. Fishing success is not guaranteed, and the activity is weather dependent with possible changes during severe conditions.
