Northern Lights Snowmobile Adventure Offers Arctic Nighttime Experience

A five hour snowmobile adventure offers visitors an exciting way to search for the Northern Lights across the winter landscapes of Swedish Lapland. The journey travels through snow covered forests and across the Torne River beneath the vast Arctic night sky. Along the way, a knowledgeable guide shares information about local nature wildlife culture and life in extreme winter conditions.

The experience begins at the meeting point before guests select warm overalls and boots and transfer to the snowmobile garage. Participants receive safety instructions helmets and a test drive on a practice track before setting out. The route covers approximately 15 to 30 kilometers, with stops for information about the surrounding environment the Aurora Borealis safety and temperature conditions.

During the adventure, participants can alternate drivers when sharing a snowmobile. Children under 13 travel in a sled pulled by the guide, while children under 5 must have an adult seated with them. The journey includes a dinner prepared over an open fire inside a traditional kata, offering a warm break while the guide continues watching the sky for signs of the Northern Lights.

The tour is suitable for participants aged 3 and above, while drivers must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid car driving license. No previous snowmobile experience is required. Guests should meet at Torggatan 4, 981 30 Kiruna, Sweden, with standard snowmobile check in 30 minutes before the official starting time. Northern Lights sightings cannot be guaranteed, and weather conditions may affect the tour.
