Embark on a scenic and enriching half-day guided tour through Durban and the greater Ethekwini municipality, where an experienced local guide will lead you through the city’s vibrant cultural and historical highlights. The journey begins at the lively Victoria Street Market, where you can browse a wide array of African-inspired items such as jewelry, clothing, souvenirs, home décor, and paintings. Adjacent to the market lies the Zulu Medicine Market, where you’ll walk through “Inyanga (Doctors) Lane” and gain fascinating insights into traditional Zulu healing practices that have survived in a modern urban setting. From there, your guide will take you to the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium—Durban’s architectural marvel—where you’ll learn about its significance and history. You may also choose to ascend to the stadium's sky platform via the Sky Car for panoramic views of the city and coastline (at an additional cost).
The tour continues to Durban’s Golden Mile beachfront, where you’ll visit uShaka Marine World’s Village Walk—an open-air shopping and dining destination perfect for relaxation, exploration, and lunch. A visit to Africa’s oldest botanical gardens, the Durban Botanical Gardens (established in 1849), offers a tranquil stroll among rare plant species and scenic landscapes, with time to explore on your own. The tour also includes the KwaMuhle Museum, formerly the centre of Durban’s oppressive Native Administration system, now transformed into an engaging museum that reflects the city’s complex social history and includes a powerful HIV/AIDS awareness exhibit. Along the way, enjoy several quick photo stops including Durban’s historic City Hall, the bustling harbour, and the impressive Shiva Statue at Umgeni Hindu Temple—each adding depth and diversity to your Durban city experience.

A nice way to see some of the sights in Durban. The office on the beachfront should be better sign-posted, and have bold signage on the back of the building too, so it is easily identifiable from all sides. The booking system is not great. You have to queue in advance, hope to get seats and pay in person just before the bus leaves: first come, first served. If you’ve traveled some distance to do this, your trip may be in vain. We managed to get seats at the last minute for the 3pm tour. The website only mentions 2 tours, 9am and 1pm. The tour lasted about 2 hours, with a mall stop, and the Cube view site stop. Sound system better downstairs. Tour guide knowledgeable but speaks fast and difficult to follow. Bus seats not comfortable. I don't know if Durban Tourism will see this but there is lots of room for improvement, especially wrt booking (e.g. online, in advance, correct info on website, etc.)

Great ride. Very informative. Takes you to different locations in a very safe and reliable way. The host is very knowledgeable. Great way to do a tour of Durban.

Whether a solo trip or company it’s still a great way to get a small taste of Durban if you’re a visitor or a local …cruise the beach front/ promenade and harbour if you’re lucky you might even sight a ship cruising in or docked at the terminal , historic buildings with rich history to them even if some are dilapidated , ins and outs of buzzing markets … not everything is rosy , areas of chaos&unpleasant smells but overall not a bad ride Few tips: hot day take a hat &sun block Durban sun don’t care Don’t over over hydrate(it’s a 2-3hr ride with 1 mall stop) The tour guides currently using a speaker box so sound is muffled at times so best you sit in front or at the bottom if your hearing is toned

Our family visited Durban for 7 days. Ricksha tour gave a great tour of the beautiful Durban. It was such a pleasant experience and all the awesome places.

The Bus itself is great, the people who get on it are questionable and can be very inconsiderate and unsafe (I almost got trampled just getting on). It was a great thorough tour around Durban and the operator was very informative and had good humour. The speaker worked just fine. The pick-up point was in walking distance from the Blue Waters hotel where I stayed. The duration is 4 hours long though so make sure to pack snacks (water and energy drinks to stay hydrated) and be the first in line to get a spot under the roof area because it is BLAZING hot (I went in December) plus there's no aircon so yeah...Thankful for it though, I got to see all the main attractions and different parts of the City which wouldn't have been possible due to my short stay there. It's also super affordable as it's priced at just one hundred rands.
