Visitors can discover the best of Durban on a scenic full-day guided tour that brings together the city's rich history, cultural diversity, and picturesque coastline. Accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, the experience begins with a visit to Gandhi’s House in Inanda, now a museum honoring his 21 years in South Africa, the establishment of the Phoenix Settlement, and the publication of the *Indian Opinion* newspaper. The journey also includes a drive through the historic Inanda township before continuing to the Umhlanga Promenade and its iconic pier.

The tour then explores Durban’s vibrant cultural heart at Victoria Street Market, where visitors can browse African-inspired crafts, clothing, and souvenirs. A guided walk through the neighboring Zulu Medicine Market offers fascinating insights into traditional healing practices that remain an important part of local heritage. Guests also visit the renowned Moses Mabhida Stadium, with the option to ride the Sky Car for spectacular panoramic views of the city.

The experience continues along Durban’s famous Golden Mile at uShaka Marine World's Village Walk, providing opportunities for shopping, dining, and enjoying the lively beachfront atmosphere. Travelers also explore Africa’s oldest botanical garden, established in 1849, before visiting the KwaMuhle Museum, where exhibits reveal the city's apartheid-era labour history and evolving social landscape.

Additional highlights include stops at the historic Durban City Hall, the bustling Durban Harbour, and the impressive Shiva Statue at Umgeni Hindu Temple. Together, these attractions offer a comprehensive introduction to Durban’s unique blend of cultural traditions, historical landmarks, and modern attractions, creating an engaging and memorable full-day sightseeing experience.

A nice way to see some of the sights in Durban. The office on the beachfront should be better sign-posted, and have bold signage on the back of the building too, so it is easily identifiable from all sides. The booking system is not great. You have to queue in advance, hope to get seats and pay in person just before the bus leaves: first come, first served. If you’ve traveled some distance to do this, your trip may be in vain. We managed to get seats at the last minute for the 3pm tour. The website only mentions 2 tours, 9am and 1pm. The tour lasted about 2 hours, with a mall stop, and the Cube view site stop. Sound system better downstairs. Tour guide knowledgeable but speaks fast and difficult to follow. Bus seats not comfortable. I don't know if Durban Tourism will see this but there is lots of room for improvement, especially wrt booking (e.g. online, in advance, correct info on website, etc.)

Whether a solo trip or company it’s still a great way to get a small taste of Durban if you’re a visitor or a local …cruise the beach front/ promenade and harbour if you’re lucky you might even sight a ship cruising in or docked at the terminal , historic buildings with rich history to them even if some are dilapidated , ins and outs of buzzing markets … not everything is rosy , areas of chaos&unpleasant smells but overall not a bad ride Few tips: hot day take a hat &sun block Durban sun don’t care Don’t over over hydrate(it’s a 2-3hr ride with 1 mall stop) The tour guides currently using a speaker box so sound is muffled at times so best you sit in front or at the bottom if your hearing is toned
