Reykjanes Peninsula Tour Reveals Iceland’s Dramatic Volcanic Landscape

A new guided excursion across Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula is offering visitors an opportunity to experience one of the country’s youngest and most geologically active regions. The full-day tour highlights volcanic landscapes, geothermal activity, and rugged coastal scenery shaped by recent eruptions and powerful natural forces.

The journey begins at Kleifarvatn, a deep volcanic lake surrounded by dark lava fields and mountain slopes, before continuing to the colorful geothermal area of Seltún. Here, visitors can observe steaming mud pools, fumaroles, and mineral-rich terrain that provide a striking glimpse into the volcanic processes beneath the Earth’s surface.

The itinerary then explores the dramatic coastline, including Brimketill, a naturally formed lava pool where Atlantic waves crash against volcanic rock. Guests also visit the fishing village of Grindavík and the Fagradalsfjall eruption area, where newly created lava fields illustrate the peninsula’s rapidly evolving landscape.
