Beginning in the enchanting town of Yogyakarta, often lovingly referred to as Jogja, our journey unfolds across a landscape of emerald-green paddy fields, misty forests, and majestic volcanoes. Along the way, we’ll pass through charming traditional villages and marvel at awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage temples that echo the island's deep spiritual and historical roots. Yogyakarta is a vibrant blend of old and new—where centuries-old traditions harmonize with lively street culture, and where the past lingers in the grandeur of ancient structures and the rhythm of daily life. With its Dutch colonial-era architecture, bustling markets brimming with color, and tantalizing street food, the town offers a sensory feast and a heartfelt welcome.
Yogyakarta, whose name is derived from the Sanskrit "Ayodhya," meaning "the city of peace," is revered as Indonesia’s cultural soul. At its heart lies the ornate 18th-century royal complex known as the kraton, still home to the Sultan and a living symbol of Javanese heritage. Within its walls, open-air pavilions come alive with classical dance performances and gamelan music, a mesmerizing orchestration of gongs, chimes, and string instruments that transport you to a timeless realm. This deeply rooted artistic spirit, combined with the city’s warm hospitality, makes Yogyakarta an unforgettable gateway to Java’s rich and diverse traditions.

We had a great experience with Sewasi tour, Indra and Joko have made this trip extremely easy and fun for us. Communications between Indra to coordinate our itinerary were pleasant, polite and fast. And Joko, our driver was on time and had a great sense of humour.

We booked the Sunrise Borobudur + Driver tour and it was an unforgettable experience. Even before the visit, everything was very easy to arrange: they replied super quickly, with all the information clear and perfectly explained, which gave us a lot of confidence from the start. On the day of the tour, Joko was incredibly attentive and professional: he arrived right on time to pick us up, always with a smile and ready to help with anything. The ride was comfortable and, and throughout the whole day he made sure every detail was taken car. Thanks to him, we got to experience the Borobudur sunrise in the best possible way. Totally recommended!

Sesawi Tour Yogyakarta was great! We did a 1 day tour of Borobudur, Prambanan, and Chicken Church. Our driver, Ari, picked up our group of 5 in a very spacious van, and was a great guide for the day. He was very professional, kind, and funny. He really made our day special. At Prambanan, he was able to tell us a lot about the history of the site and its continued restoration. He also took us to a great restaurant for lunch during the tour! Sesawi Tour Yogyakarta was easy to book with, helped us create a custom schedule for the day, and provided excellent service throughout the day! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a tour guide in and around Yogyakarta!

We booked a daytour and had a wonderful day with our tourguide Ari. We started with a bicycle tour in the village of Prambanan. That was absolutely amazing. We harvested rice, saw how emping and tofu is produced and visited the stingless bee. After that we went to the Prambanan temple and the Borobodur temple. A terrific day! We would highly recommand Sesawi Tour and especially our tourguide Ari.
