Our children’s RYA Youth Sailing Stage Four course at Aztec Adventure Upton Warren offers an exciting and challenging opportunity for young sailors to develop advanced skills in double-handed boats. Designed for participants who have completed Stage Three, the course focuses on transferring previously learned techniques and maneuvers to crewed sailing, building confidence as both crew and helm. Children gain hands-on experience in rigging, launching, recovery, and man-overboard drills, while learning to work as part of a team to solve a variety of problems afloat. Each session is led by trained and DBS-checked instructors who provide expert guidance and support, ensuring that all participants can learn safely while enjoying the thrill of sailing in moderate conditions. Parents and spectators are welcome to watch from The Boat Shack or terrace, offering an opportunity to observe progress and achievements in a scenic lakeside setting.
All necessary equipment for double-handed sailing is provided, allowing children to focus entirely on skill development and practical experience on the water. Participants are encouraged to refine boat handling, develop teamwork, and master the techniques needed to sail a crewed boat on all points of sail, including launching and returning to a beach, jetty, or mooring. The course combines practical skills with teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence-building, giving young sailors a sense of accomplishment and progression. While lunch, drinks, and personal outdoor clothing are not included, the venue provides a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for learning and leisure. The Stage Four course blends advanced sailing instruction with adventure, fun, and personal growth, providing an ideal platform for children to enhance their sailing skills, develop teamwork, and enjoy an unforgettable experience at Aztec Adventure Upton Warren.
