Children are being given the opportunity to discover the excitement of sailing through the RYA Youth Sailing Stage One course at Aztec Adventure Upton Warren. Designed specifically for beginners, the two-day programme introduces young participants to the fundamentals of sailing in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.

Under the guidance of trained and DBS-checked instructors, children learn essential skills including the parts of a boat, launching and recovery procedures, steering techniques, turning, and sailing across the wind. The course places a strong emphasis on practical, hands-on learning, allowing participants to build confidence while gaining valuable experience on the water.

All sailing equipment, including buoyancy aids and other safety gear, is provided as part of the programme, enabling children to focus entirely on developing their abilities. Parents and spectators are welcome to watch sessions from The Boat Shack or the lakeside terrace, offering families the chance to observe the progress and achievements of young sailors throughout the course.

Successful participants receive an RYA logbook and certificate upon completion, providing formal recognition of their newly acquired skills.
