Children's RYA Youth Sailing: Stage 1 Course at Upton Warren

Our children’s RYA Youth Sailing Stage One course at Aztec Adventure Upton Warren offers an exciting introduction to the world of sailing for young enthusiasts. Designed for beginners, the course provides a thorough and engaging overview of basic sailing principles, including understanding the parts of a boat, launching and recovery, steering, turning, and sailing across the wind. Each child receives full tuition from trained and DBS-checked instructors, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment. The course emphasizes hands-on experience, allowing participants to develop confidence and skills on the water while enjoying the unique setting of the lakeside venue. Parents and spectators are welcome to watch from The Boat Shack or terrace, providing an opportunity to observe the children’s progress and achievements.

All necessary sailing equipment is provided, including buoyancy aids and other safety gear, so children can focus entirely on learning and enjoying their sailing experience. Throughout the course, participants build both practical sailing skills and a solid understanding of fundamental principles, helping them to steer, turn, and sail effectively across the wind by the end of the program. Successful completion is recognized with an RYA logbook and certificate, offering a sense of achievement and a record of their new skills. While food, drinks, and personal outdoor clothing are not included, the venue provides a comfortable and well-equipped environment for both learning and leisure.
