Children's RYA Youth Sailing: Stage 3 Course at Upton Warren

Our children’s RYA Youth Sailing Stage Three course at Aztec Adventure Upton Warren offers an exciting opportunity for young sailors to build confidence and develop advanced sailing skills in a safe and supportive environment. Designed for participants who have completed Stage Two, the course focuses on mastering sailing techniques across all points of sail in moderate conditions. Children gain hands-on experience in launching and recovery, capsize recovery, rigging, and sailing theory, helping them to handle a dinghy independently and safely. Each session is led by trained and DBS-checked instructors who provide professional guidance and encouragement, ensuring that participants develop both practical skills and confidence on the water. Parents and spectators are welcome to watch from The Boat Shack or terrace, allowing them to enjoy the progress and achievements of the young sailors while taking in the scenic lakeside setting.

All necessary sailing equipment, including buoyancy aids, is provided, allowing children to focus fully on learning and practicing new skills. Throughout the course, participants are encouraged to challenge themselves, improve boat handling, and gain experience in sailing around a course or triangle in moderate conditions. By the end of the program, children will be able to demonstrate proficiency in launching, sailing across all points of sail, and recovering from a capsize, showing that they are confident and capable young sailors. While lunch, drinks, and personal outdoor clothing are not included, the venue offers a well-equipped and welcoming setting for a productive and enjoyable learning experience.
