We recently went on the sunset bear safari with our guide Byron and it was honestly incredible! He answered every single question we had and was so knowledgeable, telling us more weird and wonderful things about bears and other wildlife. We were lucky enough to see 4 bears, and it was just breathtaking driving around the Olympic park keeping an eye out for them. This company is very aware of the potential impact on nature and wildlife and does everything it can to ensure a responsible, respectful safari! We would do this tour again in a heartbeat! Huge thanks to Byron for the great tour.

We booked a bear tour with Whistler Photo Safaris. The team is very friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do — that part really came through and we appreciated it. That said, the experience didn’t feel like good value for money. The vehicles are Ford Broncos, technically rated for 5 passengers, but in reality they only seat 4 comfortably. Our group had 5, and the squeeze really took away from the overall enjoyment. With a full vehicle, it was almost impossible for everyone to see (or photograph) the bears properly, as the three people in the back were constantly competing for space and visibility. We only saw one bear, which of course isn’t guaranteed, and we did enjoy the guides communicating between cars via voice app. But when a bear was spotted elsewhere, the quick drive to get there was very bumpy — and with three in the back, it was not a pleasant ride. My suggestions: • Limit tours to 3 guests plus guide as standard — it would make the experience much more comfortable. • Balance out groups better. We noticed some cars had only 2–3 guests, while others (like ours) were packed full. Overall, friendly guides and good intentions, but the execution could be improved to match the price point.

My wife and I had a wonderful time yesterday on our bear viewing tour with our guide Kelly. We were fortunate to see Priscilla Bear next to the road feeding on berry bushes as we watched quietly from the 4x4. It was refreshing and uplifting to have Kelly guide us through the untamed forest in such a respectful and peaceful way. Kelly is an excellent driver and we felt safe and secure with her hands at the wheel. It was clear to see that Kelly has a genuine passion and empathy for bears and wildlife in general. Her knowledge of the life of bears revealed some interesting facts that we were unaware of. Seeing a bear in the wild was fantastic and heartwarming but it was Kelly's positive personality and professionalism that made our tour a lovely day to remember! Thanks Kelly and all of your crew for looking out for our beautiful bears! Wayne & Kimberly

Joel was our tour guide and he was amazing and had lots of facts for us about bears, and anything nature. We got to see some beautiful waterfalls and even saw a bear near the end or our tour. Was so much fun and would defiantly do again. The guides all communicate and let each other know if any bears around. He took us on a fun ride and the kids loved bouncing around.

Incredible experience, our guide Jacob was fantastic, very knowledgeable and friendly to speak to, my wife and I ended up having our own private tour as there were only 2 of us in the truck. The new broncos are great and we wish we could have one in the UK! We saw 7 bears on our tour, the winter Olympic park is a great habitat for these animals and seeing them not long out of hibernation and with cubs in some cases was truly special. Cannot recommend this highly enough and would love to do it again. All credit to the tour company who are so respectful of the bears, their habitat and their personal space.
