A fabulous destination! 🙆‍♂️ I share with you a light and pleasant idea for a walk for the upcoming weekend - Zlatna Panega.👌 It is part of the Iskar Panega geopark. It is located no more than 2 km. from Lukovit.🚘 There are signs along the way, so you can't get confused.😉 The eco-trail starts from a large parking lot, which will take you to the Zlatna Panega River.🚶‍♂️🙆‍♂️ Very beautiful with its water color (blue-green shades).🤗 It is actually due to the dissolved calcium carbonate in the water. I hope I helped you with a suitable idea.😉

Lovely ecotrail next to the river with few bridges with steep stairs. The walking distance is about 1,6km. We were with kids and it took us about an hour(slow pace). The boat trip is also nice and highly recommended.

Lovely place with a big free parking at the entrance More advised to do it with sports shoes (I saw a lot of people in sandals / flip flops, but there are stairs, bridges, rocks, caves, etc). Bring sun screen, insect repellant, a hat for shade, some water. There are refreshment points at the start & end of the path (with ice cream, drinks, snacks). The walkable path stretches up until point 9 of the trail, out of a total of 20 points. If you choose to do this, one way and return lasts about 1 hour. You also have the option to go only by water and do the whole trail (by kayak or hydrobicycle). In this case you are not allowed to get out on the land, you can only do the 20 points by water. This whole ride takes about 2 hours both ways. The kayak was 25 leva / hour - you can pay with cash only! And there is also the option that combines them. Where you go by boat until point 20 and then come back on foot from point 9. (or the other way - go by foot until point 9 and come back by boat).

This is an easy trail, perfect for an outing with family and friends. While it’s not particularly spectacular, the walk along the river is peaceful and enjoyable, with a few charming bridges anchored into the rock walls. There are also plenty of spots for picnics, making it a good place to spend a leisurely day. For those who wish to explore beyond the pedestrian path, there are opportunities to rent boats, pedalos, and kayaks. However, the use of motorboats feels out of place in a location that promotes an ecological experience. While motorboats may benefit visitors with mobility issues or transport people to different points along the river, pedal boats would be sufficient without disturbing the natural atmosphere. It’s worth noting that the trail is not accessible for wheelchairs, and the bridges can be a bit challenging for some. The steps are narrow and may feel unsafe, and during peak hours, the bridges’ limited width can lead to considerable waits as people cross.

It's a nice place for a walk in nature. Very unique with the weaving bridges along the river. Beautiful nature and so nice that it is made accessible in such a creative way for everyone to enjoy. I recommend to avoid holiday weekends as the place is pretty packed. Maybe the steps on the bridges can be redone to be a little more safer as they created a serious traffic jam the weekend we visited. My main complaint was the motor boats. Yes, it's probably nice to hop on a boat but it really ruins nature and the whole experience for everyone that came to experience nature. For the people that want to enjoy a boat ride kayaks and paddle boats should be enough to experience the boat trip along the river. It's nice that there were benches at the end and along the way but there should be dedicated smoking places as it was pretty impossible to sit and breathe fresh air along the path as everyone was smoking everywhere.
