This two day art camp is specially designed for young children who are beginning to explore their artistic abilities and discover the joy of creating. The focus of the camp is on the process of making art rather than the final product, allowing children to freely express their imagination, experiment with materials, and enjoy the sensory experience of getting hands messy. Participants will be guided through a variety of creative and abstract art techniques, giving them the opportunity to explore color, texture, and form in playful and engaging ways. The camp encourages curiosity, experimentation, and personal expression, helping young artists gain confidence in their abilities while having fun in a supportive environment.
Throughout the camp, children will engage in activities that emphasize creativity, exploration, and discovery. They will learn to combine different techniques and materials while being encouraged to create art that comes from their own ideas and inspiration. The sessions are designed to be fun, interactive, and slightly messy, allowing children to fully immerse themselves in the artistic process. For families planning to drop off their child, it is important that participants are potty trained and able to use the restroom independently to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. This art camp offers a nurturing and inspiring space where young children can develop a love for art, explore their imagination, and leave with a sense of pride and accomplishment in their creative creations.

We loved the afternoon adult forest school workshop and learned all practical skills needed to make a wooden flower box! Dee rustled up foraged-dandelion snacks and nettle soup to try with veggie skewers cooked over the fire. Could have sat around the fireside munching all afternoon. Delighted with my flower box and can’t wait to put my new practical skills to use xx

My Son and Daughter aged 8 and 6 went to a 3 day Summer camp at Among the trees and had an amazing time! The said it was the best camp ever. Learned about nature and food!

My 2 children aged 5 and 7 recently attended the Easter camp at Among the trees. They thoroughly enjoyed this camp. They loved the range of activities on offer, in particular planting seeds and learning about growing food, shelter building and exploring the woodland. Every day of the camp was a great adventure and they came home full of stories. Dee and her colleagues were amazing with the kids and really encouraged their curiosity. I would highly recommend this camp.

There are not enough words to describe how good this camp is. The atmosphere and surrounding are amazing, the staff running it are superb and the camp content is spectacular ! My daughters have attended the harvest, winter and spring camp and are already registered for the summer camp. My highly anxious 10 year old is a different child while here. So relaxed, happy and sleeps so soundly every night with the smell of campfire on her hair and all her handmade wooden crafts around her. Learning skills such as growing their own vegetables, cooking, camping, fire making, care of animals and nature to name but a fraction of the activities they do. A tiny piece of paradise in north county Dublin… a magical place. Wish I was a kid again!!

My 6 year old adored the Spring camp with Dee - she had a wonderful time -eating dandelion fritters, pancakes, kale crisps, popcorn all cooked over an open fire...hanging out in swings and hammocks...digging, shelter building, feeding animals, making new friends, a much anticipated treasure hunt for s'mores and cooking those over the fire, carving wood, building a bug hotel... an amazing camp run by great people with a love of nature and the outdoors. Highly recommend!
