Outing- Winter Tree ID Walk- Frick Park

Explore winter trees on a guided 2.5 hour Frick Park hike led by local ecologist Henry Schumacher. This walk is perfect for anyone interested in learning how to identify trees in winter when branches are bare. Participants will move along gravel trails with some hills, stopping frequently to examine and discuss the characteristics of various trees. The pace is slow, making it approachable for adults and older children accompanied by a grown up. The total distance covered is roughly one to two miles, and frequent stops allow plenty of time to ask questions, take notes, and enjoy the cozy winter atmosphere.

This outing is primarily for adults but kids are welcome if they can focus on the slower paced, educational experience. Participants should bundle up with winter gear including gloves, hats, scarves, and wear comfortable closed-toe shoes or winter boots.
