We had an amazing experience with Erne Boat Hire. From the moment we arrived, the team was welcoming and knowledgeable. The boat was in great condition, comfortable and easy to handle, even for those of us without much boating experience. They gave us a clear briefing on operating the boat and some great tips on where to go/sites to see. We went to Devenish Island to visit the Monastic site. The scenery was absolutely stunning with calm waters and beautiful islands. Booking was easy, prices were very reasonable, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Highly recommend this company if you're looking to explore the natural beauty of Lower Lough Erne from the water. We'll definitely be back!

The service in general seems well used and known locally. However we had an extremely stressful experience caused by what can only be described as negligence on the part of the business. Upon leaving, our boat almost immediately had water gathering on the bottom of the boat. Ten minutes later and the boat became extremely hard to manoeuvre. Little did we know that it was actively sinking and the storage chests had filled up with water making the boat unbalanced. Reasons for this below.... We turned around and at that point the boat began to take on more water. We were fortunately rescued by a nearby charter boat who towed us to a jetty. The Lough warden found that the bung had come out of the bottom of the boat and they managed to rescue the boat. Fortunately nobody was harmed or ended up in the water, although by sheer luck that someone was there to help. We later received an apologetic sounding message from the owner and a refund, but also complete denial of responsibility, and in so doing effectively accused us of taking the bung out ourselves. The warden agreed that these were hard to find and we were unlikely to be near that part of the boat as it was under a cover. I would suggest it was ready to go before we got in and us getting in has popped it out. This should have been checked before every journey, not at the start of the day as the owner later told me. So an unexpectedly stressful experience with two young children and a dog and would categorically not use the service again. Great activity to do in Enniskillen. Mark was great to deal with and even contacted us 2 hours prior to our slot to say our boat was ready early. We headed to Devenish island per Mark’s instructions, had a look around the monastery and then headed towards Kellyhevlin Hotel before returning the boat. Really easy to manoeuvre, shelter for rainy days and lots of storage on board. Definitely recommend!

A fantastic day out on these brilliant boats, staff are excellent, boats are easy to use and we really had such a brilliant time, we travelled out to Devenish Island with a picnic, the 4 hour allocated time slot is great, gives so much time to enjoy the lake. Excellent value for a family day out at onky £65!!

We had a great afternoon sailing to Devenish & round by the Killyhevlin. It was nice to see the views from a different angle, would definitely do this again. This was also our rescue dogs first boat trip and she loved it even falling asleep at times 🐶Mark & the staff were very friendly also. Thank you 🤩
