The three day student canoe trip from Leun to Limburg is an exciting adventure combining teamwork nature and history. The tour starts at the Leun Lahn train station just steps from the put in point which is ideal for arrival by train or coach. Students receive a short introduction to paddling safety and lock operation before setting off on the calm Lahn River. The first day leads through the Löhnberg lock the unique Weilburg shipping tunnel and the historic Koppel lock before reaching the Gräveneck campsite. Here the students camp play games and enjoy shared activities fostering cooperation and class cohesion.
On the second day the route passes Aumenau and Villmar with its famous marble bridge to Runkel where the castle overlooks the river. Students continue learning teamwork while navigating three manual locks and enjoy breaks along the way. The final leg leads past Dehrn Castle to the cathedral city of Limburg where the tour ends. Optional extension to Diez is possible before returning to Leun via the Lahn Valley Railway. Over three days students experience approximately fifty to fifty five kilometers of paddling developing independence responsibility and collaboration while enjoying the natural and cultural beauty of the Lahn River.
