An amazing cooking class... Do not miss! While in SIcily my family of 5 (3 adult "children") took 2 cooking classes. While we enjoyed both, Manuela's was far and away the most fun and, "The Best" food we ate in Sicily"..... this from our adult children who treated us to a Michelin starred dinner! What made this so special? Manuela has an infectious personality and is able to make delicious food simple. Her mother, "Nonna", is omnipresent and although speaks no English has a joy to interact with the class like she is their mother or grandmother. The class takes place in Manuela's apartment overlooking the sea, and there we created the most delicious meatballs, pasta and tiramisu that we had ever tasted. The time flew by and when we left we felt like we were leaving members of our family. We all said this class was one of the highlights of our trip to SIcily. I can't recommend it highly enough. And Manuela.... if you read this.... we hope that if you visit the US we can host you in our home and give you the same welcome that you gave us!
We visited Manuela at her home and made an amazing lunch. We had so much fun with her and she spent time explaining everything and giving us so much background and information. We travelled around Sicily for two weeks and this was my favourite thing that we did. It was definitely the best meal we enjoyed on our trip and made even better by being in her home and meeting her family. I highly recommend!
Manuela and her Nona Maria welcomed us into the home and made us feel like part of the family. They were both very genuine and personable. We had the class to ourselves and we learned so much from our hosts and it was a pleasure getting to know them. This was a lovely experience and we couldn't recommend it enough. Super easy to reach from Taormina by bus.
