I had a great excursion on Mount Etna. Both the driver and the guide were very friendly, and the guide shared many interesting and valuable insights about the volcano and the region. The experience was well-organized and truly memorable. Highly recommended!

We had the pleasure to go up the Etna with Pietro - highly recommend and a wonderful experience. Pietro is knowledgeable, friendly and empathic. He took note of the needs of our group and shared his deep knowledge of Etna and Sicily. The views were stunning, the cave was like nothing else and the views were breathtaking. Best part of it all was the descent; traversing the volcanic sediment was like skiing on land. If you plan on visiting Sicily definitely go up the Etna and definitely choose Pietro as your guide!

We had an unforgettable experience with Ivano and his family visiting Castello degli Schiavi (the Godfather Villa), where some of the most iconic scenes of The Godfather were filmed. We even had the privilege of meeting the Baron, who still owns the villa and was present during filming in 1971 and 1980—a true piece of history! Ivano’s knowledge was incredible, bringing to life not only the story of the villa but also the history of the family who has owned it for generations. From there, we visited Bar Vitelli, the famous spot where Michael Corleone asked Apollonia’s father for her hand in marriage. The adventure continued with a ride in a traditional three-wheeled vehicle up to the Chiesa di San Nicolo, the beautiful church where Michael and Apollonia’s wedding was filmed. If you’re looking for the ultimate Godfather tour, don’t hesitate—book with Sicily Active. Ivano and his team are simply amazing!

We really enjoyed our half day tour on Mt Etna with our great guide, Carmelo! We were picked up right at our accommodation in Naxos and enjoyed the smaller group (7) experience. We got to see some of the amazing caves and craters of Etna, but didn’t feel like we were constantly surrounded by other groups and tourists. Carmelo was very knowledgeable, kind, attentive, and funny - he was very open to answering all of our questions. The tour concluded with a delicious lunch in a cute little chalet as well! I would highly recommend this if you’re looking for an easier, informative, and less crowded hike around Etna.

We had an amazing experience on a half-day tour of Mount Etna, perfectly organized by this company! Our guide, Davide, was absolutely outstanding — a true mountain enthusiast and a real expert in volcanology. He shared a wealth of fascinating information about the formation of Etna, the geology of the area, major eruptions throughout history and the earthquakes that followed, as well as the incredible way the city of Catania was rebuilt using stone formed from volcanic ash. We visited several inactive craters (Etna has around 300 craters, only 4 of which are currently active — the ones at the summit, over 3,000 meters high), and the landscapes were simply spectacular. Davide answered all our questions with patience and enthusiasm, making every moment of the tour engaging and meaningful. I highly recommend this tour — well-organized, informative, and truly unforgettable!
