Archivist's Tour

Step behind the scenes of railroad history with a rare opportunity to explore the archival treasures of the East Broad Top Railroad. Guided by the official railroad archivist this unique experience allows visitors to access areas normally closed to the public including the historic second floor of Orbisonia Station. During the tour guests step inside the former Engineers Office now home to the archives and special collections program where thousands of historical materials are carefully preserved and studied.

Visitors will discover vaults containing an extraordinary collection of maps drawings records and documents spanning the earliest years of railroad operation. The archivist explains how fragile materials are protected organized cataloged and digitized so they can support restoration work and historical research.
