- ## Regular Guided Tour: 1 Hour Duration
- Because the East Broad Top was built 'narrow-gauge,' with rails only 3 feet apart rather than the 'standard' width, the operation had to be entirely self-sufficient. This resulted in the construction of an extensive shop complex to maintain the railroad's fleet of locomotives and cars.
- Completely frozen in time, those buildings...and the machinery inside of them... still exist today.
- **Note:** Tours take visitors over uneven ground, and require crossing several train tracks. Closed-toed shoes are strongly recommended.
- ##Tour Overview:
- Each walking tour is led by a knowledgeable guide who is well versed in the history and operation of the railroad.
- >##Tour Starting Location: Orbisonia Station
- All tours begin at the historic Orbisonia Station. You will have plenty of time after your train ride to use the restroom or visit the gift shop before beginning your tour.
- >##Stop #1: The Freight Office
- Here, your guide will give you an overview of the railroad's history, and how/why it survived for us to enjoy today.
-
- ***
- >##Stop #2: The Roundhouse
- The heart of any steam-powered railroad was the roundhouse. This building, one of the oldest railroad structures on the property, houses our fleet of six narrow-gauge steam locomotives, among several other unique pieces of equipment.
-
- ***
- >#Stop #3: The Machine Shop
- This sprawling facility kept the railroad rolling. Skilled laborers worked hard to maintain, and even construct, the EBT's roster of engines and cars. A stationary steam engine powered each machine through an elaborate working of overhead line shafts and belts. Today, this complex is one of the few remaining sites this intact anywhere in the United States.

- ##Northbound Colgate Grove Excursion: 1 Hour Duration
- Enjoy a scenic 9-mile roundtrip train excursion through the heart of Huntingdon County. Trains depart northbound from the historic Orbisonia Station along our narrow-gauge mainline, originally constructed in 1872. You'll pass through rolling hills, fields, and forests on your way to Colgate Grove where the train will turn around completely for the return journey.
- ##Southbound Pogue Excursion: 1 Hour Duration
- Ride the rails through rolling hills and forests on our recently re-opened trackage heading south of Rockhill Furnace towards the community of Pogue.
- >**Classes of Service:**
-
- **Coach:** Fully enclosed coaches with padded walkover seats and large windows that open.
- ***
